At Arctus, we are committed to ensuring that our expertise serves the public good. For several years, we have been working with a variety of Canadian public agencies to provide daily ice monitoring during the critical spring thaw period.

To achieve this, we rely on a wide range of sensors to deliver the most comprehensive situational awareness possible during critical events. While optical sensors are widely used in public safety applications, they are often limited by cloud cover, preventing the acquisition of clear imagery. This is where Arctus’ expertise in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image processing becomes particularly valuable. We are able to provide complementary radar and optical products in near real time, with less than 12 hours between data acquisition and product delivery.

Whether for the detection of ice jams, wildfires, or flooding events, Arctus helps organizations maintain the highest level of public safety and operational awareness.
