Geographer and holder of a master’s degree, Stéphane has extensive experience in digital image processing applied to remote sensing, a field he has been working in since 1989. His work focuses on developing innovative methods for analyzing Earth observation (EO) data. He has participated in numerous research and development projects, particularly in the area of environmental sustainability. His achievements include developing a radar imaging methodology for monitoring environmental indicators related to wetlands and characterizing vegetation cover for monitoring activities in protected natural areas. Additionally, he has been involved in international projects such as wetland detection and water resource management in a transboundary context in West Africa. He has also refined target identification techniques using time-series radar images for monitoring the ecological integrity of national parks. His work on daily river ice monitoring using multi-source EO data reflects his ongoing commitment to innovation in the field of environmental remote sensing.
