Loïc joined Arctus in 2025, coming from a background in geography with significant experience in professional sailing. He completed his master’s degree in geography at the University of Victoria (BC) in the Spectral Remote Sensing Laboratory, focusing on remote sensing of Pacific herring spawning events. A spectacular phenomenon! Throughout his academic and professional career, he has also worked for the Aquatel laboratory at UQAR, the Pacific Salmon Foundation, and as a lecturer. While his path has always kept him close to the sea, his return to Rimouski marks a transition to more land-based projects; his expertise lies at the intersection of optical remote sensing, GIS, the sea, and the land.
